I appreciate how these Catholic christians have shown the love of Christ to their fellow muslim neighbors over the course of many centuries. However, I still view their approach as naive. The christian population of Lebanon is shrinking. Now that Iraq is in the hands of Islamic fundamentalists, it is only a matter of time before they extend their caliphate to the surrounding region.
Please pray for peace in this region, Ping!
UN: Want to make a bet on that?
Since we’re run by anti-American Muzzies—don’t expect the US government to do a damn thing.
I was a bit surprised today to hear Al Kresta express (on his Catholic radio show this afternoon) some anger and frustration and consternation at the complete silence (on these genocidal Islamic atrocities) from many quarters which should be speaking up loudly (and acting where appropriate) from many quarters, including the Church, the USA, the UN, etc.
Where are their indignant voices?!?!?
Right. There was a time when the U.S. Gov’t would act on it's own, not needing to be petitioned. Then the day came when the U.S. Gov’t would sit on their hands until their moral leadership was questioned - then they acted.
Now of course we are at the stage you have pointed out. Shameful.
All we can do is pray. In time justice will happen. God Bless ALL the Middle Eastern Christians.
Good life’s work but wake up Louis Sako. UNaccountable bureaucrats (socialists) DO NOT CARE about atrocities committed against Christians in Iraq. You will get ZERO support. Their totalitarian partners would just as soon cut your head off, infidel. Collateral damage for a larger agenda.
Naughty, naughty . . . you peaked behind the curtain at the dog and pony show.
Translation: Get ready to have an important Christian community in exile.
Sorry...but that is what the “UN” does best...that and rape women and children in Africa.
Exactly and the mid-eastern klansmen's jihad will advance relentlessly.
Paleo-nazis cleansing their lands.
The universalism of Islam, in its all-embracing creed, is imposed on the be- lievers as a continuous process of warfare, psychological and political, if not strictly military. . . . The Jihad, accordingly, may be stated as a doctrine of a permanent state of war, not continuous fighting." Majid Khadduri - The Quranic Concept of War
A VERY important Christian community in exile. History unfolding and evidences of an alternative ideology wiped out forever.
You got it!
The ONLY way the UN would decide to involve itself in Mosul is if someone rose up to fight ISIS and begin to make progress in that fight. Then we’d hear calls to “stop the bloodshed.”
Until then, the UN is disinterested in the slaughter of Christians or the mutilation of girls.
The UN probably won’t “stand by” but the Christians won’t care for the UN’s intervention at all. The UN will use the confiscated churches and monasteries for refugees, Moslem refugees being processed for shipment to Boise and Moline.
I see a LOT of these Christians coming to America.
The UN is too busy condemning Israel that to take up with that problem.
Innocent peaceful people will always be irrelevant until they defeat the people trying to use them . Hamas in this case.
