Half tongue in cheek, but the non Catholics here are pretty well educated.
Oh, well....maybe not.
Well, congratulations. You have left me the most shocked over a post on FR than I have been in a long time.
I did not expect that from a Catholic.
That said, are lay Catholics really in schism when it’s the leadership in the Catholic church that is off course?
Isn’t it really the pro-abort clergy who are actually in schism?
Well, Francis sure seems to be giving it a go lately from everything I've read about his comments about social welfare.
It doesn't sound like you have much use for the un-brainwashed.
The hierarchy in the U.S. is composed—ON AVERAGE—of the worst, most ambitious, least faithful, least courageous priests who could be found and recommended for appointment by the Pope. Only four percent of priests in the last sixty years have molested minors. Sixty-six percent of bishops covered up molestation of minors. MORE than sixty-six percent of bishops give Communion to abortion supporters. No bishop is speaking against Obama’s opening the borders to terrorists. No bishop has spoken against Obamacare, except on the narrow issue of the HHS Abortion Mandate—which would never have been possible without the bishops’ years’-long campaign for socialized medicine. No bishop is saying or doing ANYTHING to wake Catholics and other Americans up to the enemy regime that has taken over our former government.
OF COURSE orthodox, pro-life Catholics are not in schism. The majority of American bishops ARE in schism.
Arthur - I agree with you on virtually every single point in the above post. I think the only thing that we might disagree on is the percentage of lay Catholics who are not "in schism", and the percentage of bishops worldwide who are.
