Its hard to tell if the near-constant stream of millennial-centric political think-pieces are perpetuating or reflecting growing curmudgeonly fears about the future of the country. Maybe its a little of both, and Fox is probably observing within its competency when it pegs more than a handful of us as deluded narcissists but it appears theres room for some political optimism among all the moral panic and the reign of the religious right. With millennial religious and political attitudes in flux compared to our predecessors, the upcoming years could be the Christian lefts big moment.
Which isnt to say the United States has no Christian left history with Civil Rights and the heyday of Catholic labor in our past, there is healthy precedent but for the millennial growing up in the age of Jesus Camp and Teach the Controversy, Christian political activity has almost always veered rightward. Yet if the Culture Wars are losing momentum in light of issues like unemployment which 76% of millennials identified as a critical issue in a 2012 Public Religion Research Institute survey, compared with 22% who found abortion or same sex marriage critical how will Christian millennials fall out politically?

If they’re truly Christ followers they will not be true leftists!
Demographers were not able to predict the baby boom generation. How much harder it is to predict mental fads among the very young. People can turn around on a dime, mentally. It just takes a Ronald Reagan type, as just one example.
Bull shi...er bull Obama.
We’ll see lib dorks.
CW-II.
It is in your future.
More liberal fantasy. The pillars of the Right are being taken away, just like Texas is going to turn Blue. The Right might as well just pack it in and give up now.
Maybe. But socialism did originate as a Christian heresy.
Enlightened believers with understanding will not be true Leftists. However, a lot of new Christians, like me when I was new, didn't have a clue about any of this stuff.
God always works from the inside out, starting with faith in Christ for salvation. In a sense, compared to that, all the rest is "small stuff" and "collateral" stuff that sooner or later a believer will gradually begin to realize.
Nevertheless, only belief in Christ as Savoir is essential for eternal life - that's the biggie.
I thought the Catholics were the Christian left. /s

The premise in the Article is Total Bovine Excrement
Is there a reason that Miss Elizabeth’s name was left off?
I never met a lib yet who believed that the Bible was the word of God. They always pick and choose what to believe as if they know better than God himself.
You nailed it.
No, not really. Henri de Saint-Simon was very non-religious when formulating his technocratic utopian socialist ideas. Robert Owen was a big opponent of any religion for most of his life, although a convert to “spiritualism” (neo-Paganism really) at the end of his life. Pierre Leroux was a pantheist. English socialists were atheists as a rule.
All the Salon articles seem to be written by Hugh Wish.
Politics aside, there is no “Christian” left, and religious attempts to defend leftist dogma and immorality fall flat when corrected by scripture. Abortion, homosexuality, systematic and generational theft and statolatry might fit within the loose boundaries of religiosity, but it isn’t following Christ.
Not particularly except that I’ve got a lot to do at the moment.
You are correct sir. Christian and left, are terms, that are mutually exclusive. Look at Jesse Jackson. He is part of the religious left, and he is an evil man.
Any Church or Church leader who supports those sins will be held accountable
and are taking their parishioners to hell with them. If they don't
stand up against the sin, they are also accountable.
