Actually, the reason Jesus did not do the things you point out he could have done is not due to tolerance. It is because Jesus was born to be crucified and die; the final blood sacrifice to atone for the world's sins. The spirit of satan caused Pilate, et. al., to do what they did because satan thought that a humiliating, torturous murder would put an end to a Savior. God's purpose was kept secret throughout the ages to make sure it would happen. And of course Jesus died, was buried, and rose from the dead.

1 Cor ch 2 says in part: “Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”

Yes! God played satan, pilate, and the pharisees to fulfil His purpose.
