Matthew 10:
“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.” - Jesus
Nice = Foolish
Tolerant = Amicable towards Evil
They lie and know nothing about scripture or what Jesus actually said other than what they pull from other websites or hear from other people. Its annoying when I hear an atheist, liberal, spiritualist or a misguided believer talk about how Christians don’t live up to the words of Jesus when they themselves aren’t living up to the words of Jesus because what Jesus actually said as a whole is directly in conflict with today’s modern thinking and norms
I love the way people attribute sayings to Jesus as if they were his best friend when he was roaming the Earth.

THANK YOU!!!
While it is true that Jesus kept some of his harshest words for the ‘Religious’ of his time people seem to see those words and ignore his words for sinners. Jesus could be pretty tough on his followers at times but also had many wonderful promises for them!
Yep, the next time Jesus gets here on earth, he’s “gonna be loaded for bear” and he’s gonna be killing a whole lot of people.
For some reason, I don’t think that’s the image that many people have of Jesus!
“Jesus didnt care about being nice or tolerant”
It is true that Jesus didn’t care about being nice, just look at how He berated the pharisees.
But was Jesus intolerant, which the title implies?
Maybe not.
If you believe Jesus has infinite power to heal and save, it’s easy to conclude He has power to destroy, too.
He could’ve easily escalated from merely badgering the pharisees to outright destroying them, and with good reason.
Jesus could’ve done the same to P. Pilate and a whole bunch of other despicable characters, including satan himself.
But he didn’t.
So I’d say Jesus is not just tolerant, but maybe just too tolerant.
Which is the key for each and everyone of us sinners.
He not only tolerates, but He also forgives and saves.
AMEN!!
I think it’s more to the point that Jesus, like Patrick Swayze in “Roadhouse”, was nice until it was time to not be nice.
Jesus told the apostles.
Mathew 10
36
And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.
37
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38
And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
39
He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
I mostly agree with the thread but we need to remember three things.
That we will be judged the same way as we judge some one else.
Do unto others as we would have them do unto us, ( friends or foes )
And that Christians are not running this world, we are not even of this world.
John 17
14
I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
People who haven’t read the Bible are pretty sure that Jesus was a wimp.
Jesus called people vipers, chased people out of a temple with a whip, and called out people for their hypocrisy. Jesus was out to do His Father’s will, not comfort people in their sins. He loves us so much that He doesn’t want us to be trapped in sin, so there’s no way He would tell people to accept sin.
Tolerance: The last and only virtue of the completely immoral society.
Jesus was tolerant of MOST people, but not all ideas.
