Acts 15:8 And God, who knows the heart, bore witness by granting them the holy Spirit just as he did us. 9 He made no distinction between us and them, for by faith he purified their hearts.
>>Christ was talking to his apostles, not Joe Blow.<<
Oh good grief. As if we need more proof that Catholics dont know scripture. Here, let me help you a little. Hint it wasnt Christ speaking.
Acts 15:7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. 8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; 9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
It was your main man Peter that made the statement that all believers have been given the Holy Spirit even as he did unto us and that there was no difference between us and them.
Seriously, Catholics really need to at least read the scripture we present and work a little more diligently on both reading comprehension and focusing on scripture rather than the indoctrination of the RCC.
Im really not trying to be nasty ebb tide. Your eternal future is at stake here. We know that the words of the apostles as written in the Greek text of the New Testament are the very words inspired by the Holy Spirit. I doubt seriously that we disagree on that. Therefore, scripture must trump anything any organization says or teaches if they differ. What the Catholic Church teaches differs with scripture on many, many issues. Taking the word of the RCC over the words of the Holy Spirit is scripture is very serious and will lead to a very nasty eternity.
So is yours. I advise you worry more about you eternal future than mine.
