Daily Obsessional, holiday edition.
My father was a Mormon when at age 17 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, and was also on the day he was seriously wounded, after 45 days in combat on Okinawa.
He left that church in order to marry my mother, but never displayed the ridiculous, obsessional anti-Mormonism depicted here.
(Good for him...and for your Mom and her family that encouraged him to take that exodus step)
(And also good that he fought for our country...in contrast, look at high-level Mormon leaders like J. Reuben Clark, a "first president" counselor to more than one Mormon "prophet" for 27 years to two Lds "prophets": War and Peace in Our Time: Mormon Perspectives [Lds Pacifists alive and well])
We are good friends with both Mormons and ex-mormons. The ex-Mormons are now Christians, and very much against it. But, they do not speak ill of it either as the Mormonism is part of their cultural upbringing. Perhaps like someone bad-mouthing someone’s alcoholic uncle, where one will still stand up for their uncle.
Or perhaps someone bad-mouthing America because of our current administration.
Sounds like he wasn't even very religious. There is nothing wrong with anti-Mormonism. It is a religious cult that sends souls to hell. This is what Christians believe.
