Yes, you do. Because the main reason for the questioning in this thread appears to be to prove to everyone that these folks should (and apparently "have" to) continue to use the word Allah because no other word suffices. This is why I have felt for awhile now that this is just a game.
There is no "have to". Whatever word is chosen would be explained to them as the appropriate substitute since Allah now has evil connotations and should NOT be used in Christianity. You're right. Any translation confusions will work themselves out with the help of the Holy Spirit. It's happened in the past and it will continue in the future. And people have still converted!
Like you said what that word would be isn't up to us. As a Catholic, I would expect the Catholic Church to decide the appropriate word so that it is used uniformly. However, as I stated way back, the Church these days doesn't seem to have a problem with the word because, after all since Vatican II, Allah and our God is the same God to them (which really was my main thrust in this thread and somehow got sucked into a so-called "discussion" about what word Arabs used before Islam and what word we should change it to).
Here’s my suggestion — LEAVE THE ARABIC BIBLE TRANSLATION AS IS ( Regardless of what the Malaysians say ).
People have been saved in the past with this Arabic Bible and are still being saved today with it.
I see no reason why we have to change it now.

you know ... I kind of felt that way early on too.
But I thought oh well ... I got some time here, I’ll give this one the benefit of the doubt and try to help out to the best of my abilities, and maybe a spark of the mind will ignite.
But boy oh boy was I wrong ... LoL
I think I’m into my 3rd day now on this, and it’s not a charm. It’s like everything I said was all in vain.
Hopefully some of those little tidbits were picked up on by others, and maybe I’m not totally accurate on all of my studies so far, but at least I know I’m giving it my best shot with what little I have gathered along the way ... smiles and take care and like I tell some of my peeps, “keep a Light on grasshoppers”.
