The Catholic Church is liberal on immigration. Always has been. It’s all about taking care of the less fortunate in society. I disagree with the Church’s stance. I say secure the borders before you let anyone into the country that is not supposed to be here.
The most compassionate way to help the poor around the globe would be to fix things in their home countries. It is physically impossible for all 7 billion of them to come here.
The Catholic Church is all about having more Catholics. If bringing the poor Catholics of the Third World here results in them being able to breed more Catholics, then it's a good thing, in the eyes of the Church, even if helping the poor of the world results in the impoverishment of the American middle class.
