Human beings are not animals. Polygamy was never seen as a “good” thing in the Bible....it ONLY brought problems for those persons that practiced it.
Homosexuality and Polygamy are BOTH sexual immorality and should both be equally suppressed by any “God Fearing” people.
King David practiced polygamy and was a man after God’s heart. The fact that Deacons and Elders were supposed to be the husband of ONE wife means there were Christians who had more than one.
I’d prefer to keep homosexuality and polygamy illegal in the US as offensive to society, but I find polygamy much less offensive and believe it has a much stronger case for acceptance by the courts than homosexual marriage.
