“The ancient Israelis had a very different attitude about sex than we have. Remember the story of the old King David and Abishag the Shunamite. Looking at beautiful naked girls was believed to have strong medicinal benefits!”
If you came away with that conclusion from reading that account....you are part of the sexual immorality problem in this country - the Shulamite was a gloried nurse to help keep an extremely old man warm - and NOT in the sexual sense.
IF Americans had not of been so immoral in heterosexual matters, which your flippant remark is indicative of, then this homosexual plague would never have become an issue. Sadly, the legitimization of homosexual behavior has its roots in the legitimization in hetereosexual sin and license to practice evil (unbridled and unashamed lust). BTW - America has been polygamous for years - it is called “serial polygamy” with doing it one spouse at a time. No respect for the permanence of marriage.

Most divorces are initiated by the female, not the male. You knew that, right?
You’re missing the point about Abishag. She was to try to arouse King David sexually in order to have him rally his failing will to live. There’s a concept in traditional medicine called shumanitism. It’s considered a treatment for this sort of thing. So, no, it was definitely using sexuality (and King David was of course very highly sexed) for medicinal purposes.
