Im not sure I get why Trads would get banned simply because of their beliefs. I don't think it's because of trad religious beliefs but that trads don't line up politically and when pressed will get all monarchist in front of everyone.

But it doesn’t look like that was done by a post-Vatican II/Novus Ordo Catholic.

No it wasn't. It was certainly protestant in origin. But I wouldn't put it past a NO type to try it. Amongst some of them there is a deviousness. I've seen it in my own diocese.

I’d say most people know it’s a trad “weak point” by now, at least those who have been paying attention for the last 10 or so years.
For instance if I were to say “I love my country but I do not care for its government anymore.” That puts a person in danger among the “Constitution is divinely inspired” people.

You could say so. I'm also critical of Obama, Kasper and Dolan; I'm not prejudiced.

I don’t care for the government, but that has nothing to do with my trad-ness. I was suspicious of our government when I was a Novus Ordite too.

You’ll also notice that I rarely get into the political threads. I only post in the RF.

As for Vatican II, I was myself thrown into some spiritual disarray from poor leaders/teachers who misinterpreted much of that...And those "leaders/teachers" included priests, bishops, cardinals and even popes.

Anyway, sorry OP. Not sure how things got off-track here.

I’m a Roman Catholic and I have always believed the Bible, authored by the Holy Ghost, is inerrant. I believe in Creationism and that God created the world in six days.
Sounds like you just ran into a bunch of poorly educated neo-cats at your universty (was it Georgetown or Notre Dame, perhaps?).

The constitution is a tremendous and good document, but divinely inspired...No.
At least in my own experience the sola scriptura crowd, somewhat ironically, seems most likely to insist that the constitution is divinely inspired.

I read that. A laughably weak, strange, and spiteful attempt by a person we all know who loves nothing better than to stir up trouble.
Yet at the same time, I see more and more people who are members of faith and fellowship assemblies masquerading as churches, saying that America is a "Protestant country," a "Protestant edifice," etc. One even stated that Catholics should be eternally grateful to ALL Protestants because the denizens of "Protestant America" so magnanimously "allowed" Catholics to live here! I guess that poster is looking for a reparation check or something.
Ironically, these claims that America was, and should be again, a Protestant theocracy that graciously allows Catholics to reside within it seem to be in violation of the rules in the exact same manner that monarchy-advocacy would be.

Is there some tie-in between this particular protestant mindset and this Americana fixation held by Mormons, most specifically Glenn Beck? Is that something inherent in those confessions?

My now retired bishop called me by name an "enemy of the diocese."...Let it go. You might consider taking your own advice.

Pray for your parish and get involved. You will be amazed at what God will do. It really builds one’s faith and promotes growth in holiness. ;-)

Does the Holy Spirit pick the pope? Ratzinger didnt think so. - See more at: http://www.patheos.com/blogs/deaconsbench/2013/02/does-the-holy-spirit-pick-the-pope-ratzinger-didnt-think-so/#sthash.DLDcLQeH.dpuf I read through both Kendra's blog and the longer piece he quotes from at WaPo, and I found nothing regarding your comment. I found a whole lot of material on Vatican politics and corruption, however. Can you point me to the relevant excerpt re how popes are chosen?
