Gay Christian? Is that not an oxymoronic use of words?

No. She is same-sex attracted, which is how she is using the word "gay." But she is single, abstinent, chaste.

It's like being "a Christian and a dry alcoholic." You still have an appetite. You don't indulge in it anymore.

Read the article. The author admits to same-sex attraction, but recognizes that to be a Christian requires her to abstain from acting on those temptations. So while I strongly object to anyone who is actively engaging in a homosexual relationship calling themselves a Christian, I don't have a problem with this person doing so, any more than I would object to a former prostitute or a reformed alcoholic doing so. All have been involved in temptations and sins in their past, and all have chosen to resist those temptations and abstain from those sins for the cause of Christ. I think she refers to herself as a "gay" Christian because she did not lose her same-sex attractions when she became a Christian, and so she has to struggle with those temptations still.

Only if you believe "sinning Christian" is an oxymoron as well.

But yes, there are indeed many hypocritical "Christians" that openly practice homosexual activities and are proud of it. This gal appears to be one that is earnestly seeking God and truth.

No, not unless you think that Christians are supposed to be perfect. There are Christian drunks, Christian adulterers, Christian liars, and as we know all too well, even Christian pedophiles. They are just obviously not being the best Christians that they can be, if they continue to indulge in their sinful lusts.
