Are there a lot of Bibles without 1John 1:9 in them?

If she has plunged into the Mikva of confession and repentance, the Holy Spirit should have cleansed her of that unrighteousness. That is the promise, that is what “baptism” is. The same can be said for alcoholics, and any other destructive ‘attraction.’

Temptation is not a sin. You know that. Jesus was tempted in every way we are, but without sin.

The attraction is not the sin. The action is the sin. Same sex attraction is not a sin. If one with same sex attraction acts on that attraction in a carnal or genital way, that action is the sin.
The writer is pointing out that filial love is always acceptable and equal to albeit different than eros love which is reserved for marriage.

Jesus answers this decisively when He answers the question of which commandment is the most important: Love God with your whole heart, mind and being, and the second is like unto it, love your neighbor as yourself. The last phrase is the definition of filial love which we are all called to. If we as Christians follow these two commandments, we will never commit a sin.
