One priest is dead and another in critical condition after a violent altercation at a downtown Phoenix church, according to Phoenix police.

As do I. I have attended daily Mass at Mater Misericordiae Mission often over the last couple of years and have had my confession reconciled by each of these Priests. Holy, prayerful, Priests of God.
They also prayed in front of abortion mills regularly with parishioners.
This is shocking news for me. Requiescat in Pace Fr. Walker, May through the arms of our Mother of Mercy, your soul be handed over to Christ Jesus, Who is Mercy Itself. May Fr. Terra heal quickly from his injuries so as to continue ministering to the People of God under his care. Such a Blessing that he was able to minister Last Rites to Fr. Walker before he died.
nick: I’m curious as to the part of the study of English that enables one to so completely misconstrue a fairly simple sentence structure? This is high-school freshman English (at least at a Jesuit college-prep high school), with a bit of third-year Latin rhetoric study.
It’s quite obvious from the straightforward language of the post that the writer is comparing those who robbed/injured the priests to those who robbed temples in ancient Rome. And that the robbers (then) were thrown to wild beasts for punishment.
The second paragraph of the same post then compares the current-day robbers to those “wild beasts of the arena”, persecuting/injuring Christians.
A rather nicely-turned phrase, but even I get it - 40+ years after that freshman English class. Nice touch, Mastador1.

“People are stunned and deeply saddened, after hearing of the violent, deadly attack at Mother of Mercy Mission”
I am furious. Does that make me a bad person?
I want the guilty parties punished, quickly and severely. Does that make me a right-wing extremist?
Thy will be done, Lord. Have mercy on us, even though we don’t deserve it.
Praying for the repose of Fr. Walker’s soul, the recovery of Fr. Terra, and for God’s mercy on everyone involved. Also praying for the repentance and conversion of the wicked soul that murdered Fr. Walker. I suspect that Fr. Walker is also praying for him at this very moment from Heaven.
Praying for those victims, their families and other loved ones, and for all of us.
Coming later today: a ruling on if Christians are allowed to cheer the Lions. Although all would agree anyone evil enough to wear a Suh jersey deserve Hell or Detroit, whichever is closer...
“Well, for starters, why shouldnt we automatically ask whether or not it was done by an angry homosexual?”
Shouldn’t there be a massive manhunt on, with the pictures and names of the suspects on every channel?
What’s up with keeping the identities of the suspects secret?
Is it because they are members of one of the obamazoids’ preferred classes? Mooselimbs, maybe, or pickle smoochers, as you suggest?
