You should not work to earn food which perishes in the using. Work to earn food which affords, continually, eternal life, such food as the Son of Man will give you; God, the Father, has authorized him. 28 What shall we do, then, they asked him, so as to work in Gods service? 29 Jesus answered them, This is the service God asks of you, to believe in the Man whom he has sent. John 6:27
Jesus through the Catholic Church gave us the Mass with the Eucharist as the continuing sacrifice of the Cross and Himself so that He would be with us in our struggle to follow Jesus and reach the reward of eternal life.
We still have to do our part and have Faith and follow the teachings of Jesus.
Isn’t God’s Love for us overwhelming that He will do so much that we may gain eternal life with Him.
My questions in Post #53 are not rhetorical. I would like the official RCC position on them.
Jesus is eternal, that means He is outside of time. That is how we can say "Once for all." All time, and all that will be born after His sacrifice.
This question is a non sequitor. All of this is part of God's plan. you might as well ask why did Jesus have to come to Earth and die if he was going to be in the hearts of all believers.
