No, because Scripture says so.

No it doesn't...The scriptures says the church is the 'body' of Christ...Is it Jesus' physical body??? Of course not...If it was Jesus' physical body, we would see Jesus' physical body...

Is the church a building??? Nope...The first thing we have to do is ignore what your religion thinks the church is because the scriptures tell us and describes what the church, the body of Christ is...And it in no way matches the definition your religion has come up with...

Put simply, the bible tells us the church is/are those who have been added to the groups of people who believe...Are any added to the church who are baptized but do not believe??? How about those who make a public profession but do not actually believe??? Nope...That's why the real church, the people, are invisible...Only those with a 'right' heart are members of the church and no one can see inside another's heart so their heart is invisible to others...Hence, and invisible church...

No one can say with certainly that your pope belongs to the church...Only he and God know...

Prior to the ‘reformation’ there was no need to refer to the church established by Christ as the Catholic Church, because there was only one Church, as Christ commanded. It was only the wise guys of the reformation who decided, 1,500 years after the Apostles, that they knew better because they had a book.

Now that's funny...It was the book of the Catholic religion they were trying to adhere to...

You are ignoring history or just didn't bother to learn the truth...

There were churches right from the get go...Your religion references them by calling them heretics and murdering and slaughtering them...They had no means of defense...Your religion had the world-wide ruthless Roman Army to do its dirty work for it...

They had scriptures and they worshiped God...Their sin was that they refused to bow down to your popes and your religion...So you slaughtered them and burnt their bibles...

The Reformation was not started by those groups of Christians...The Reformation was started by Catholics who saw that their/your religion perverted its own scriptures ao badly that they chose to go back to the bible...

“But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.” 1Tim 3:15

There are scholars who say it is God who is referenced as being the pillar and ground of the truth...Since it is the church of God, I would suspect that would be right since we have other scripture to back that up...

Again, here Jesus assures us that He is always with us, to the very end

That promise is not to the Catholic religion...It is to only 'believers', the body of Christ...

So Christ says His Church will not be destroyed or fall away from him, that the Holy Spirit will guide the Church to always teach the Truth, and He will always be with us.

I don't believe it says the Holy Spirit will guide the church to teach the truth...It says the Holy Spirit will teach the truth to the church...And looking at Peter for inspiration, the church(es) may not always tell all of the truth...We know that is true of your 'Church' as well as any others...

You guys always add words that are not true...The bible says there will a great falling away before the man of sin is revealed...If there isn't a falling away in your religion, more proof that your religion is not the church of Jesus...

Christ established HIS church. Not like the guys of the Reformation and other heritics who established their own churches, 1,500 years after the Apostles.

The original Reformers are Catholics...They built their (Catholic) Reformed churches based on what the scriptures teach, after they had the scriptures in their own hands, in their own languages...

They didn't change what the apostles taught...They changed what the perverted Catholic religion 'claimed' the apostles taught (such as you Catholics will become gods)...

Samaritans were HALF breeds: not 'truly' Jewish.

'Normal' Jews would have NOITHING to do with them (John 4:9)

The term "Cuthim" applied by Jews to the Samaritans had clear pejorative connotations, implying that they were interlopers brought in from Kutha in Mesopotamia and rejecting their claim of descent from the ancient Tribes of Israel.

Samaritans refer to themselves as Bene Yisrael ("Children of Israel") which is a term used by all Jewish denominations as a name for the Jewish people as a whole.

The Catholic God can do anything, including create the Universe ex-nihlo (That means from nothing)

The Catholic RELIGION can CLAIM anything, including all kinds of, shall we say, INTERESTING things that must be believed. This usually means from nothing plus VISIONS plus opinions of men.

What is really ridiculous is how you can take the clear words of Scripture - "This is my Body" and change it into "This represents my body"

Are you STILL so dull??

They were the gentiles, who God would favor after the rejection of God by the Israelites.

"She received the cells of a human body, just like her own..." I'm not sure I agree with that. There was something in those cells directly from God, making whatever God placed in Mary's womb a whole lot different from Mary's cells which had hundreds of generations of DNA mixing before her conception. No, I don't think Jesus's cells were 'just like her own' cells.

I'm curious: do you believe that Jesus was half chromosomal Mary and Half God added Chromosomes? Or were ALL of Jesus's Chromosomes non-Mary derived?

How would anybody know that? We know he hungered, he thirsted, he bleed, and died. He was God’s son in a human body. No favors over us.

Starting with the unbroken line of papal authority, I think that is self evident. You are delusional

The line of popes is not unbroken, and finds it's genesis in psuedepigrapha. Go and try to prove it - You will see.

I have no idea what you are trying to say. Methinks drunk is the operative word.

Then you have not studied the Word wrt 'the latter days', which both Paul and John declared as begun in their day.

Says you

Says Yeshua:

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

With them, the truth will be found. Your church does not keep the commandments of YHWH. Rather, it mimics the very things that Yeshua came to rid us of.

Hard to have a discussion with irrational ramblings.

Wow! Don't I know it! But I am trying to help you rid yourself of them. ; )

[roamer_1:] The claim is not the point.

Well, it does matter. If you suggest there is no Church that goes back to Christ's promise that His Church will not be destroyed, Christ was a liar. You sound like a Mormon, where the Church needed a restoration.

No, it doesn't matter - Anyone can make a claim. For the claim to be seriously believed, one must necessarily back it up with PROOF.

As to the Congregation of Yeshua, I would suggest looking where the neck is bowed to the sword, and stop following the hand that held the sword.

However, there is a sense that many posters are just insistent on their own opinion (or their man-made church's teachings) and keep repeating it without examining the true facts and the information presented by Catholics.

I think FreeRepublic should charge for commercials.

>>Right – the Church.<<

You keep referring to the “church”. There is no such thing as the “church” as the Roman Catholics and many others teach. The word wrongly translated “church” is ekklēsia which means an assembly of those called out. There is no organized “church” taught in scripture. Not once did any of the disciples teach about an organized “church”. When Paul said bring it to the ekklēsia (assembly), he was saying to bring it to the local group of called out believers not some organized “church” as taught by Catholicism and others. The whole concept of the “church” as taught today is of Satan not of God.
