Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Few Things are as Precious, Necessary, and Beloved as Water to any of us, but Imagine being in a Desert Climate where it is scarce! In this excerpt from proverbs, Solomon compares the Physical Act of Love to WATER. This is an obvious reference to the wonder of marital Love, but also a warning. Adultery is compared to drinking water from somebody else's well (a definite transgression in the Ancient World), and promiscuity is compared to wasting water by pouring it out in the street.
Love and Sex in the context of Marriage is celebrated as a Fountain of Delight, and perfectly Lovely.
We know, of course, that Solomon did not always follow his own advice, and we also know that this was his biggest mistake. It tarnished his relationship with God, and brought ruin to his family. Not only that, but his kingdom was split in two, and Civil War followed is reign.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
and Make All Things Right.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen
