Answering you question would prove the Catholic Church correct, and that can never be allowed to happen, on even one single item.

The Gutenberg was not for the people, but the wealthy and powerful.

A years wage wouldn’t have bought a Gutenberg for a working man.

That situation didn’t change until the KJV and Douay were produced, at which time a year’s wage would just about do it.
