Anyone who’s been conscious and paying attention the last 30 or 40 years knows that the Vatican admits extraterrestrial life is possible. It also expresses a belief in the Big Bang theory.

Georges Lemaitre, a Belgian priest, is considered the father of the Big Bang Theory.

It is not, has never been, and never will be, a religious doctrine of the Catholic Church --- one way or the other --- for the simple reason that it's not part of the deposit of faith and morals which has been handed on to us from the Apostles. It's simply not theology. It's exobiology.
So the Catholic Church cannot, properly speaking, "admit" or "deny" or "declare" or "rebut" anything about ET life. For that, you'd be well advised to consult an exobiologist.
(Investigating moral duties towards ET life --- such as, defining/detecting personhood --- is of course a related, but identical question.
