If you erode the belief that God is able to do what He did in creation, as the original poster is doing, and if he ever goes into the ministry, what will he be preaching? That you can rely upon the Bible except for this part in Genesis?
Maybe he begins to call into question that God parted the Red Sea to allow the Israeli's to cross?
Maybe he begins to call into question any of the miracles of the Bible.
Maybe he doesn't believe John 14:6.
Look at this from a military tactical perspective. You don't attack the citadel in a direct frontal assualt. You attack the supporting areas of the citadel. You disrupt the logistics. You isolate the citadel to the point where you've rendered it useless.
My concern with his position is that over time you erode the confidence in the Bible. This has been Satan's strategy going back to the Garden of Eden. Of course, I wonder if the OP believes this account?
