Well said, I just posted something along the same lines.
I remember back when I had TV I’d watch Siskel and Ebert. I learned that if Ebert liked it but Siskel didn’t, it was not worth renting.
We don’t do the theater any more. with a 46” set and a blue ray player and a decent Hi-fi, we get a better experience in the home than in any theater. And I rent the movies for free from the library.
I just realized a new movie genre has been created and I didn’t even notice. It’s the “Fiction based on real people” Genre. They put real historical characters in their environment as history records, but then add some ludicrous twists, filling in the blanks with wild speculation, to add entertainment value.
There have been three that I know of:
1. The Last Temptation of Christ
2. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
3. Noah
Are there any others I haven’t thought of?
