Nothing personal against this writer but why not skip the euphemisms and call it what it is: the porn industry?
At the time of the Northridge earthquake most of the porn industry was centered in Northridge.
Now porn production is more scattered, with many pervs filming outside of California altogether. There is a lot of filming in Florida, Colorado, and Ohio.
