Apparently you have missed my point. God is of course the center, but He calls us to union with Him. As you said yourself, you can’t be in two places at once. We are to unite our will to His. Thy Will be done.
Uniting our crosses with His Cross and performing works of mercy for His sake doesn’t necessarily take the form of “feeling like an outcast”. That is a narrow view of discipleship. The conflation of the outcast, the margin with automatic virtue is consistent with liberation theology.
It is not ‘feeling’ like an outcast - in comparison to the power of God you are an outcast as we’ll stated in almost any psalm.
To be otherwise is to set yourself up as being a god.
Think humility.
