It's a national disease of the spirit, not something limited to one group or another. People in this country have taken personal, individual, authority to the extreme and vote with their feet whenever anyone or any organization dares to tell them there are limits. They'll sit around and theorize an exception that suits their personal tastes and then decide they can't hang with anyone who doesn't bless or agree with their exception.
Churches, Catholic and non-Catholic alike, are trying to fight a spiritual battle against principalities and powers with the tools of this world rather than fighting the battle on with the unbeatable tools Christ has given us. As long as Christians try to rely on reason rather than faith, they'll keep losing ground.
I don't know what you saw or heard, but whatever the others saw and heard led them to vote overwhelmingly pro-life, something that Catholics don't do.
Different denominations vote differently, for instance America's second largest denomination, is about an 80% pro-life vote.
Catholics not preach against abortion? My pastor talks the talk and walks the walk, I’ve seen it!
I wish however more Baptist churches would take the time they spend bashing Catholics and spend that time preaching pro life sermons. Then again that will be the day because Baptist just like the rest drank Margaret Sanger’s kool aid long ago.
