sigh....you left out the rest of the passage that explains this and why these “other” things the catholic church claims are not in the Bible.

And as John 20:31 notes that the ones we have in the Bible are given to us so that we may believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

You can’t take Scripture out of context and build theology around it....well I guess you can...but it’s wrong to do.

YES! Exactly! There is a purpose for the text included in the Bible. It tells the story of our fall and redemption. What it doesn't do is give a liturgical how-to or answer all the questions of life... it isn't meant to be an all-inclusive catechism or instruction book. It's a Book with a purpose and an object. Beyond that, it points to the Church as the bulwark and pillar of the truth (1 Tim 3:15) so that we may be taught the rest.
