If you study Jewish weddings, She was a wife when she agreed to marry Joesph. The deal is made, the dowry paid, wine is drunk, and a paper signed. She was considered married even though the wedding wasn't consummated.

This is why I keep harping to anyone that listens, that to be a Christian, you should desire to learn about our Lord and Savior because he is a Jew and we are not. It explains so much in the Bible that Christians just don't understand. By being Christian, you have agreed to marry Christ and have taken His name. The wedding will happen at the Rapture, but we are betrothed to Him right now. If you were to follow idols now, you have committed adultery to Christ. You belong to Him and Him alone. There are many that even deny the Rapture will happen. How else will we go to the Bridegroom to have the wedding feast spoken of in the Bible? It is all explained if you understand a Jewish wedding Feast.

As acknowledged by you, Mary and Joseph’s wedding had not yet been consummated, and that while more than an engagement, in Jewish culture, the marriage had not been finalized. If you study scripture, you also know that Joseph considered divorcing Mary because of her pregnancy. It seems you wish to play a game of biblical “gotchya” Certainly not an example of loving one’s neighbor from someone who wishes to spend eternity with Christ.
