Historically, Britain was a MORE lassiez-faire, capitalistic nation than the US ever has been. From 1780-about 1914 Britain had freer trade, fewer restrictions on investment and business, well developed finance, ownership, insurance systems totally unrestricted by the government. British law and local administration was essentially non-existent, as many used to say, for the ordinary person the British state might as well not existed.

Back in the 19th century the various policies the US national and state governments imposed would have been seen as oppression by the British. Tarriffs, subsidies to railroads, licensing laws, etc. did not exist in Britain.

The US is not unique in its attitudes, looking into the past, nor (and this is my point) the specific Christian nature of the US (as opposed to other Christian countries) part of the formula for capitalism.

You seem to dislike something about America and Christians, anyway, Christians created America, and a capitalist America, and a great society and culture.

I don’t know which great capitalist nations the atheists created.
