Job 19:26 Literal translation from the Greek.

“And after my skin hath compassed this body, Then from my flesh I see God”.

Jesus ate meat after His resurrection.

Let me apologize up front for using your name in my last post to roamer without pinging you. :)

>>Job 19:26 Literal translation from the Greek. “And after my skin hath compassed this body, Then from my flesh I see God”.<<<

That is from Young's. I am glad you brought that up. This is that verse, from Young's Literal Translation, in context:

"That--I have known my Redeemer, The Living and the Last, For the dust he doth rise. And after my skin hath compassed this [body], Then from my flesh I see God: Whom I--I see on my side, And mine eyes have beheld, and not a stranger, Consumed have been my reins in my bosom." (Job 19:25-27 YLT)

The reason there is such a discrepancy in the YLT translation than the KJV is there were several words added to the KJV by the translators to this verse (though, worms, and body.) That led to other words being mistranslated.

Anyway, your guess is as good as mine as to what that means. I guess it all comes down to whether you believe the plain words of Paul and Peter, of the vague words of Job.

>>>Jesus ate meat after His resurrection.<<<

He did lots of things to show his disciples that he was the risen Christ. Recall they did not recognize him as Christ, but thought he was a spirit. At that time he ate some fish and honey.

But also recall that at time he told them this:

"And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high." (Luke 24:49 KJV)

When describing that event before he was crucified, Jesus said this:

"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;" (John 16:7-10 KJV)

And, so far, no one has seen him. John only saw his angel:

"I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star." (Rev 22:16 KJV)

I suspect Jesus meant what he said.

Philip

Are you implying that flesh and blood CAN enter the kingdom of God?
