The SIN against the Holy Spirit CANNOT be forgiven.....PERIOD.
The poor man had NO SINS!!!
And? The Holy Spirit didn't inspire the OT?
I am quoting Jesus.
Where? I didn't see the chapter and verse references.
Where is that stated in the Bible?
Chapter and verse please.
AMEN.
Because it's a fable...You also stated God's gift is forgiveness...If you have to pay, it's not forgiveness...
Jesus already paid the penalty for sin...In advance...That's God's forgiveness...
Of course I’ve read that passage. I’ve also read Romans 6:23 and James 2:10. The wages of sin is indeed death, and Paul isn’t specific.
Sin keeps us from God, no matter what it is. Without Christ’s complete cleansing, we are doomed. I trust you know that.
I know what Rome teaches, but show me from Scripture. It only matters what the Bible teaches. That’s the case on this and every other issue.
***We would ALL GO TO HELL if that was the case!!!***
First off, why are you screaming?
Second, one little sin is enough to send us to Hell. There is no such thing in Scripture as the Catholic constructs of sin.
Let me ask you something. Do you ever, ever lie awake at night and wonder why you are trusting your eternal destiny to a religion that makes up so much doctrine in the name of tradition? So much that is not clearly laid out in Scripture?
Acts 17
10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Have you attempted to thoroughly verify the biblical basis for all those Catholic definitions you post? Or do you simply trust Father Hardon?
Are you a Berean? Do you search the Scriptures to see if what you are taught is so?
This is all very interesting.
Hmmm..Paul is saying here he was a former blasphemer. How do you explain the fact that he received mercy?
One little sin is NOT going to send me to Hell....what an ASSINE belief you have......then you were destined to HELL when you became 7!!! OMG...I give up on you people.
Arrogance? Nonsense. Are you suggesting that there are people that are not sinners?
No you are not...You are quoting (or not) what someone else claims Jesus said...
Same as the OT...Those people wrote what was told them to say...Just as Moses wrote what Jesus told him to say...
Same with Paul...He wrote what he was told...
Let it be, friend. One can only do so much.
Yes, I do....and that is why Jesus gave the SACRAMENT of CONFESSION to the APOSTLES...Peter and the other 10....”whatever you loose on earth will be Loosed in heaven”.....I know, I know, you would rather believe what was written in the 25th century than what was written in the FIRST century from Jesus’s words.....
B Rom_3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Making things up is not acceptable as proof...
I guess you do not believe in the PRISON SYSYTEM where you go to do your TIME for a WRONG that has been done!!!
If you SPEED, you will get a LITTLE something...if you KILL you will get the DEATH PENALTY!
Excellent answers, Salvation.
And while I would not presume to know who .45 Long Colt or Gamecock might consider the authoritative source on Biblical exegesis, there are few who would stand to question St Thomas Aquinas. His Summa Theologica is the unquestioned authority for most serious scholars. If .45 Long Colt and Gamecock are seriously interested in a scholarly understanding of mortal and venial sin, they should review this work.
Summa Theologica is online and questions regarding mortal and venial sin may be found, generally, beginning at question 88 of the First Part of the Second Part. In spite of the academic seriousness of the work, it is a relatively easy read.
