Yeah, I thought that was rather nifty to use a different name to somehow leave the impression the article was written by someone else. Who would have known that Steve O and restornu are one and the same without doing the research? Thanks for pointing that out.

In Deuteronomy 4:19 and Malachi 1:11 God evidently sees it differently.

He like many others knows this definition does not come from the scriptures.

Just because it has been perpetuated down through the ages does not make it so...

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

It is up to each of us to commune with the Holy Spirit the comforter for he will teach us all things and bring to memory..

John 14
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 5:39 ¶Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

1 Tim 6

19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

A firm foundation is build on truth!

I say this humbly in all due respect

In Jesus Christ, Name amen.

Then why did you put your name on the first post claiming to be a “Christian Minister with over twenty years of experience”? You certainly should have known that the impression would be that it was indeed you who was that “Christian Minister”.

>> In Jesus Christ, Name amen.<<

In which Jesus Christ are you referring? The Jesus Christ that is truly the “I am” or the Jesus of Mormonism, the brother of Lucifer?

I didn’t, sorry I did not make it more clear I am self taught so it did not occur to me there would have been a miss understanding.

BTW most folks know Restornu has enough trouble for years forming sentence. Praise the Lord at my age things are improving.

I just assume every one know it was Steve-o but I see now it was noted on the second page and not on the main one.

“In which Jesus Christ are you referring? The Jesus Christ that is truly the “I am” or the Jesus of Mormonism, the brother of Lucifer?” - CynicalBear

So you have nothing else just be sarcastic

I believe in the Jesus Christ who tell us...

34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13

and those who are of Jesus Christ

1 Cor. 13

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

More counsel from the word of the Lord

Many false churches will be built up in the last days—They will teach false, vain, and foolish doctrines—Apostasy will abound because of false teachers—The devil will rage in the hearts of men—He will teach all manner of false doctrines. About 559–545 B.C.

9 Yea, and there shall be many which shall teach after this manner, false and vain and foolish doctrines, and shall be puffed up in their hearts, and shall seek deep to hide their counsels from the Lord; and their works shall be in the dark.

10 And the blood of the saints shall cry from the ground against them.

11 Yea, they have all gone out of the way; they have become corrupted.

12 Because of pride, and because of false teachers, and false doctrine, their churches have become corrupted, and their churches are lifted up; because of pride they are puffed up. 2 Ne 28

I say these things humbly in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen

Mormonism is the fruition of almost every condemned heresy, foolish doctrine, driven by false teaching, vain doctrine, etc.

A human will become a god? Of his own world? equal to God?

Foolish and vain doctrines!

Show me where the Bible says stake or ward.

***

The priesthood could explain this better...

It was brought to remembrance as shown in the OT the servants of the Lord are taught from the Lord how this is to be done.

Stake

One of the organizational and administrative units of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A stake is composed of a number of wards or branches. It generally has a set of geographical boundaries and conforms to the tent image described in Isaiah 54:2: “Lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes.” Each stake of Zion supports and helps to hold up the Church the way a tent or tabernacle is held up by its stakes. A stake is the gathering place for the remnants of scattered Israel (D&C 82:13–14; 101:17–21).

Isa 54

In the last days, Zion and her stakes will be established, and Israel will be gathered in mercy and tenderness—Israel will triumph—Compare 3 Nephi 22.

2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;

3 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

Isn’t it interesting that you avoid citing the most obvious indicator of the sameness of Jesus and God the Father…..

In the beginning was The Word, and The Word was with God and The Word was God… (starting at John 1:1 and continuing).

The very words of my Lord and Savior tell me exactly who He is. You can dance around that all you want but the Greek and Aramaic are clear.

And for the record just because some one ‘teaches’ for free does NOT make that person a legit source for understanding of God’s word. You basically are quoting someone who has no formal training in any of the languages and no understanding of logic. Other than that you are in good shape

>>So you have nothing else just be sarcastic<<

Sarcastic? Do you renounce and rebuke the beliefs of the Mormons on this subject? I wasn’t being sarcastic at all. Let’s look at just a few of the statements of belief.

"The appointment of Jesus to be the Savior of the world was contested by one of the other sons of God. He was called Lucifer, son of the morning. Haughty, ambitious, and covetous of power and glory, this spirit-brother of Jesus desperately tried to become the Savior of mankind." (Seventy Milton R. Hunter, The Gospel Through the Ages, Melchizedek Priestood manual, 15).

Seventy Joseph Young (brother of Brigham Young): "Who is it that is at the head of this? It is the Devil, the mighty Lucifer, the great prince of the angels, and the brother of Jesus." (Journal of Discourses 6:207).

"The story of Lucifer is the most terrible example of such apostasy. Lucifer, son of the morning, through diligent search for truth and the use of it, had become one of the foremost in the assembly of those invited to undertake the experiences of earth. But, in that Great Council, his personal ambition and love of power overcame him. He pitted his own plan and will against the purposes of God. He strove to gain the birthright of his Elder Brother, Jesus the Christ" (John A. Widtsoe, Evidences and Reconciliations, p.209).

"Long before you were born a program was developed by your creators ... The principal personalities in this great drama were a Father Elohim, perfect in wisdom, judgment, and person, and two sons, Lucifer and Jehovah." (The Teachings of Spencer W. Kimball, pp. 32-33).

“In the wilderness of Judaea, on the temple’s pinnacles and on the high mountain, a momentous contest took place between two brothers, Jehovah and Lucifer, sons of Elohim… Satan, also a son of God, had rebelled and had been cast out of heaven and not permitted an earthly body as had his brother Jehovah. Much depended upon the outcome of this spectacular duel” (The Teachings of Spencer W. Kimball, p.34).

Now I ask you again. Which Jesus? The Jesus that Mormonism proclaims or the Jesus from scripture? They are not by any means the same. Please don’t try to obfuscate.

The Bible has more reference to becoming a child of God than it has for the word Trinity which does not exist...

Hmm. The bible references everything specifically, then?

Tell me--How often did Christ eat?
How often did He bathe?
How often did He relieve Himself?

Since it is NOT mentioned, why do you do so as frequently as you do? That's not very biblical, is it?

Since Jesus Himself said that if we say Him, we had seen the Father, then we can deduce--using our intellectual gifts--the Trinity. It was a given, not required to be explicitly mentioned. But it was mentioned as something the audience of the letters all knew.

Read Hebrews front to back sometime. Get down into it and study. You'll find the trinity in there.

That has to be one of more convoluted distortions I have seen to date. The Hebrew word used in those verses means “peg” as in the pegs used to secure a tent. It simply refers to enlarging the available shelter.

A stake is not an assembly of believers. A stake is a piece of wood that secures a tent.

The LDS believe that Jesus was the Creator of earth and that Jesus is doing the will of His Heavenly Father that is why we are told to search the scriptures.

The Tradition of Men have perpetuated one theme down through the ages but it is what Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are imparting?

In the end can one stand before the Lord but this is what has been taught by the Tradition of Men of which I believed...

One who will not humbly verify with the Holy Spirit the Spirit of Jesus Christ which is of the Lord is he not a slothful servant...

John 15 26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

1 Cor 2
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

Hebrew 10
15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

1 John 4

Try the spirits—God is love and dwells in those who love Him.

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Many have tried to turn words, be cute, but have they really with courage seek for truth through the Holy Ghost fallen on their knees humbly to receive the comfort and love and Joy from the Lord spirit who brings to remembrance all things that testifies that which is of the Lord?
