“What gift of the Spirit is it that you are claiming to be exercising?”
First, it is as much of a curse as a gift to be able to do many things as I feel like a human pin cushion. I feel in detail the physical and emotional pains of others.
For example last night I walked into the barn and immediately had severe pain in my right knee. It was from a guy doing milking who had injured his! I feel both the good and bad others experience.
Jesus sent out the disciples to teach and heal others. That is instructed of us as well since we too are disciples of Jesus.
In Mark 16 Jesus tells his disciples what they are to do:
The Great Commission
14 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. 15 And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.
My question to you is: Is your belief sufficient to do any of the things that Jesus commands His disciples to do?
And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.
While I will not purposely test God by picking up poisonous snakes nor drinking poison (Just as Jesus refused when satan tempted Him)I will do my best to be His servant.
When you die you no longer perceive from your physical body alone, you begin to perceive from your soul and the Holy Spirit of our Father within us. That is why Paul spoke of dying daily. Absolutely nothing can kill your soul, not even an atomic bomb exploding on top of your head. It is the real you that was created in God’s image.
Remember, Jesus commanded you to call no one your Father except your Father in Heaven. Why would Jesus instruct us to call His Father our Father unless we too were His son’s & daughters? Just as Jesus explained in the parable of the tares in the wheat, mankind are the good seeds that are planted here to grow.
If you are not a son or daughter of thy Father that is within us, whose son or daughter are you?
I don't see how that would be tempting God...Handling deadly snakes is given for a sign that the person actually had the power of God at his disposal...
Don't try walking on water...That didn't work out well for a fella recently down in Africa...
What you claim to have experienced, and your supposed abilities are not from God. There is no gift listed to do what you claim you do nor the Scripture you provided.
Therefore it is not from God.
The things you've described help me to understand some of what I've read and have seen watching others along my winding way.
Perhaps it's because His Body-Church has been sliced up into many pieces that what I find there has seemed incomplete and the many practitioners usually feuding with each other.
Whatever the reasons for how things are now, on a surface level only Satan's goals seem to be advanced by this division and the prideful conflicts.
None the less, like I heard a TV evangelist say yesterday, Jesus has a simply amazing way, if we ask, of turning our messes into His Message, thus turning our lives around and turning us into a beacon to/for Him and His Glory.
