You don't need a priest, or sacraments, or a "church", or a denomination, or charismatic 'gifts' or baptism or hierarchal permission, sanction nor absolution ...
If you read the Scripture closely on that subject, you will discover that Christ was talking to the Jews. Not Christians or Catholics.
>> “Christian celebrations like Easter, Christmas and Church services on Sunday” <<
.
If those things are ‘Christian’ then Lucifer is god.
Catholics, like anyone else, are born again when they believe, just like Jesus said. Baptism only gets people wet if they don't believe.
HaHaHa...Your catechism in not God's bible...All it is is a commentary on some of the scripture and a poor one at that...
If the person does not believe that the Catholic Church is the church that Christ founded, they must repent and believe.
Repent and believe, in YOUR RELIGION...So all this stuff about Protestants who are baptized can be saved is a bunch of baloney...Since they can not be forgiven for anything...
But they wont have the psychological certainty of Gods forgiveness that Catholics receive in Confession, nor the graces that the sacrament imparts.
And that is the craziest part of all...We are not looking for the psychological anything...Christianity is not psychological...
Christianity is an operation...It is a spiritual circumcision of the heart...It is NOT psychology of the mind...That's why the bible is so foreign to you guys...That's why you need someone to tell you what it says...
And Christ taught this when/where? Your senses have deceived you.
Acts 4:12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
Not the name of Roman Catholicism either.
I could be a smartass and ask if Satan got the guys to screw it up that badly seventeen hundred years ago, what chance did the guys four and five hundred years ago have to put it right, let alone anybody more recently. I could, but I won’t.
I’ll just say there’s only one Way to be saved, and unlike Mongo from “Blazing Saddles”, He’s not a what, He’s a Who. And I wouldn’t even have been able to believe that, let alone do anything else about or for Him, ever, if He hadn’t made it possible.
Exactly. This bears repeating.
Grace is given to us by God. To call it "cheap" is not to understand what grace is all about.
Bingo!
Credo in Deum Patrem omnipotentem;
Creatorem caeli et terrae.
Et in Jesum Christum,
Filium eius unicum, Dominum nostrum;
qui conceptus est
de Spiritu Sancto,
natus ex Maria virgine;
passus sub Pontio Pilato,
crucifixus, mortuus, et sepultus;
descendit ad inferos;
tertia die resurrexit a mortuis;
ascendit ad caelos;
sedet ad dexteram Dei Patris omnipotentis;
inde venturus est
iudicare vivos et mortuos.
Credo in Spiritum Sanctum;
sanctam ecclesiam catholicam;
sanctorum communionem;
remissionem peccatorum;
carnis resurrectionem;
vitam aeternam. Amen.
In English:
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ,
his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived
by the power of the Holy Spirit,
and born of the Virgin Mary,
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
He descended into hell.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
he will come again
to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen
AMEN!
I don't know what you are talking about...
You'll find there in no call to repent either, but to BELIEVE (which in itself is repentance)...
Yes.
Not sure of your point.
I know how dearly you wish to believe that, but the facts do not bear that up.
Catholicism was born in the 4th century, breathed to life by pagans, and dedicated to the murder of Yehova’s people, and suppression of the Way of Yeshua.
"If he will not listen to the church, treat him as a pagan or tax collector." --Jesus
Catholics read the whole Bible, and take Jesus' commands seriously.
That, and to persevere in that faith and belief to the end.
