It’s a simple test. Does the historian agree that Julius Caesar said “veni vidi vici”? Does the historian agree that Jesus said “Ani Hu. And you shall see the son of man seated on the right hand of Power coming on the clouds of heaven” before the Sanhedrin and was put to death for answering the question of His identity? There are plenty of simple places in history and in the bible to see if someone’s grinding an idealogical axe.
