I, too, was raised a pre-tribulationist until I did my own total Bible study after crying my eyes out and wanting to know only the truth no matter what. No matter what.

I became a Christian at about 29 years of age. I went to a medium sized AG church and they preached pre-trib. One of the teachers there taught it on a fairly regular basis. His sunday school class had about 60 people in attendance.

At the time I just accepted what I was told on a lot of “complicated” subjects within the church. Tongues was one. This was another.

Anyway, one day I read a book that supported the mid-trib position. After presenting my strong questions to this teacher, he handed me a white paper he wrote defending the pre-trib position. I was excited to be reconvinced. Who wouldn’t want to believe the pre-trib message? But after reading both sides, I saw his position depended way too much on alledged symbolism of the bible in prophesy (and not just in Revelation) rather than plain language. His white paper convinced me that his analysis was seriously flawed.

Yes, I was very disappointed, but the good news is that after studying both sides, I am confident in what I believe and can support it without just referring to someone more knowlegeable than me who makes the claim.
