Joseph F. Smith's desire -- that Mormons celebrate Smith's birthday -- took yet another 50 years to really get off the ground...when Logan, Utah assumed center stage during the annual December "Joseph Smith Memorial Firesides" kicked off in 1944...when they actually held two of them that year!
