I am not a Jehovah Witness and don’t generally hold them in high regard.

However, on that particular point that Jesus is not God, they are correct.

Calling someone a “Cult” because they don’t agree with you is an Ad hominem attack.

Trinitarians can’t really sucessully argue the Trinitarian point of view as it doesn’t hold up to scrutiny by honest seeking persons.

God identified Jesus as his Son. Peter identified Jesus as the Son of God. Peter said he was a Man. Jesus himself said things which indicate He was not the Father (i.e. Jesus said he didn’t know when the world would end, only the Father knew).

The list goes on and on.

Only a few scriptures can really be pointed to support the idea, and there is controversy surrounding the translation of most them (John 1:1)

To the sincere seeking person, ask God to show you the Truth. It is an important issue and, sadly, most so-called Christians have it wrong.

JWs are a cult because the deny the deity of Christ Jesus.
A good analysis is available from Walter Martin’s “Kingdom of the Cults”.

The Deity of Christ Jesus is inescapable now and at the future Judgment Seat.

A brief set of Scriptural evidence is provided in numerous posts here, and in post 543.

Once provided this doctrine, those who adamantly reject it simply manifest the spirit of antiChrist and are enemies of Christ.

***And no doubt, you consider yourself to be honest. But you dishonestly and blithely ignore this evidence:

***There’s a simple historical way to show that JW’s and others are engaged in scripture twisting. You choose 10 sections of the new testament *in greek, like an interlinear new testament* at random, and 10 sections that point to the deity of Christ like John1:1. Bring them to a greek historian at a university near you. Pay him $50 to translate those 20 passages, and compare them to various translations. You’ll see quickly that JW’s and idealogically driven bowlsheetarians will be stuck with a piece of trash as a translation.
