False use of that fallacy. The point is that ALL Christians, except for a few heretics that were ostracized and booted from Christianity...believed in Jesus as full man and full God.

Statements saying that the Spirit is “of” the other two Persons of the Trinity indicate that his Person is tightly bound up with and originates from them (just as the Son is the Son “of” the Father). “

Let's not read more into those Scriptures than they actually say. Those Scriptures do indeed show the spirit is under the control and direction of both Father and Son, but that is far from providing support for a three person God of equals. In fact it argues otherwise.

Thus the doctrine was established, not with an appeal to reasoning from the Scriptures but by official dictat and ability to punish anyone who dissented.
