True. And I'm not criticizing all Catholics. Just those which participated. As a general rule, the Protestant Reformation was the best thing that ever happened to the Catholic church. It got them out of the business of government and into the business of restoring morality.

It isn't a coincidence that some of the best examples of Catholic faith are far removed from the government (think Mother Theresa, Pope John Paul II) while some of the worst examples are those in control of it (think Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden).
