Just curious to know how many FReepers listen to this weekly show.
The guy does the entire show as if he himself was actually Jesus. It sounds, on the face of it, odd at best and sacrilegious at worst, but he does have an encyclopedic knowledge of scripture, and dispenses wisdom and advice in a caring and just manner.
CC
listening to it going on 10 yrs,
good stuff.
It seems at least inappropriate. Someone could call up and ask him how his parents are getting along.
Thanks. I missed that episode. Perhaps someone will some day ‘splain to him that allahu ackbar really means “my god is greater than your God”, and point out that in the ME a Christian can be executed for referring to the God of Abraham, Issac and Jesus as allah.
Yes. On the face of it it does. Still, he knows his subject and can convey it in a clear and understandable fashion.
I'm certainly no expert, but he seems more accurate and faithful to the original than most of the televangelists I've ever seen.
Thank you. I’m looking for feedback from people who have actually heard the show. Else I’ll learn no more about him than I would about, say, Rush by just listening to people who hate him but have never even listened to his show.
I’ve heard it before. I think it can be helpful to people. I think it is helpful to think of him as one gas station on the road that non- or semi- religious people follow as they start to ask more questions and think more deeply. If he were a destination, it would not be enough. But he is a good place to stop by when it is still early in the journey.
Well said.
Neil Savedra(spelling) is against denominational or organzized Christianity. He is a “Bible alone” guy on all fronts.
I’m a Catholic,so there, but then again that makes him a stick in the mud in respect to some 95% of all Christians.
In addition, to all his unique flavorings, focus and emphasis of his personal beliefs that arise from within him, being led by no one else and not a denomination.
As someone said he is much better than your average televangelist, and probably near equal to the better or best ones. But he’s no Billy Graham!
Neil Savedra is and was a radio guy first, he got the show as a lark or suggestion by one of the radio guys at KFI because of his knowledge/interest in the bible. Also Neil Savedra does a food show on the same station. KFI is my local talk station.
Thanks!
Neil Saavedra Fork Report Saturday 2-4 PM. I’ll give it a listen.
