My response in post number 177 is to your irrelevant claim concerning the Scripture in 2 Timothy. It is irrelevant because it comes from the basic strategy from Rome of denying Scripture as supreme over the magisterium. Your catechism, in response to Scripture, teaches you that you must listen to men. The Scriptures I posted are directly on point, first quoting Jesus and then Paul.
The picture I posted is a perfect depiction of Roman Catholic heresy. The scripture I quoted describes exactly who created those thoughts. That demonic statue appears to have tears of blood. To a Roman Catholic that is a miracle and so must be recognized as a sign from God. But, Paul describes that in 2 Thessalonians.
I do not need to defend Scripture. Jesus quoted Scripture whenever he spoke, as did Paul. It was His basic strategy to affirm his origins and his destiny. Through Scripture He was revealed as the Messiah. When He ascended into the heavens, He sent back the Holy Spirit to indwell us believers and to make His Word alive in our hearts.
Scripture is always relevant to someone seeking God. But to a Roman Catholic, it is something to be assumed to be incorrect, unless some gaudy clown puts a seal of approval and an explanation from circular logic. The Roman Catholic catechism claims many of God's miracles our just fables meant to teach principles, but my God can do all things, and I believe every one.
He is my Father and I am his son, grafted into the family, adopted and loved completely through Jesus Christ.My heavenly father has only the best gifts for his children. The best gift of all is eternal salvation through Jesus Christ. Everything that exists is through Jesus Christ. Believe it or not!
Mary is dead. Mary's body bore Jesus Christ, but she is not the mother of God and she is certainly not someone who can effectually represent us in heaven. There is only one name under heaven by which we must be saved, and that is Jesus Christ. There is only one intercessor between God and man, and that is Jesus Christ. There is only one Word, though there is much written throughout Scripture, but we see in John 1:1, in the beginning was the Word… And that Word is Jesus Christ.
So, with the guidance of the indwelling Holy Spirit in my life, all scripture is given to me… and I don't need some phony pretenders in elegant gowns telling me that it doesn't say what it says. You can d-fend your heresies and damnable lies, but God will always reveal his words to those who have an ear to listen. But, that ear isn't the one on each side of your head, it is an open heart ready to receive the truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Rome is preaching another gospel… and the Roman Catholic activity of bowing to statues, or beseeching dead people for favors will only send one to hell. (Oh yeah, you guys think somebody can pray somebody out of "purgatory", but that's another one of those fairytales from Rome.) I even read now that they are flying some idolatrous statute to Rome for a special blessing ceremony. Satan is laughing all day long!
Mary was a chosen vessel and nothing more. Someone had to do it, because of prophecy. But, she is dead. She cannot help you with God, anymore. She's dead. I am a saint, according to Scripture, and yes I do pray for you as long as I'm alive. I want all to know the fullness of the unmerited favor from God, through Jesus Christ. We are not saved by Rome, and have no allegiance to their claims. The only knee we bow is before the throne of God, and not some idols from the bowels of hell.
