“People often miss irony on the Internet. It’s a joke people! If you take this seriously, you really shouldn’t be following me!” Warren posted as a comment. “Did you know that, using Hebrew ironic humor, Jesus inserted several laugh lines — jokes — in the Sermon on the Mount? The self-righteous missed them all while the disciples were undoubtably giggling!”

I was sympathetic with the 'Megachurch pastor's' joke until I read Rick Warren's blasphemous comments about the Sermon on the Mount.
What "laugh lines" in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew chapters 5-7) is Warren talking about? The Lord's Prayer? Keeping your treasures in heaven and not on earth? 'Enter ye in at the strait gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many go in thereby'? Showing that God's standards are such that anger with someone without a cause is murder; or to lust after a woman who is not your wife is adultery?...

Where exactly are these "laugh lines" that Rick Warren speaks of?

To Rick the whole book was a humorous novel in an ancient Hebrew setting with Roman antagonists.
