If the catholic church is infallible then they would need no councils to correct bad practice. If there are not, the councils can not be sure to give good guidance the Catholic Church is NOT infallible....sometimes she makes unusual mistakes....however, the Pope IS infallible..cannot err in matters of faith and morals...
