Not so. In Belgium, 5% of Catholics attend church. All are counted in your number... But what are the 95% who never go? Your billion number glosses over that - which is true worldwide. So a more accurate number would be 5% or 10% of a billion. So maybe 100 million practicing Catholics worldwide - and a larger number of CINOs.
As to your second point.
Weak argument that is proof of nothing.
With the number of Catholics that don’t attend Mass always being counted by the liberal media as “catholic”, the number of Catholics that attend Mass weekly and live the faith still out number any protestant denomination in the country.
