Is there a list of official proclamations as distinguished from advice and opinion from the Vatican

of course there is...official proclamations are just that....opinions and personal ideas are just that also...the Pope is just a high ranking bishop and he is entitled to whatever thoughts that he has...however, when he speaks ex cathedra, he cannot err....ever

So let's line up Judas Iscariot on one side and Jesus Christ on the other...And here comes the Catholic religion along with the Catholic Martin Luther... We know the Catholic religion went over to Judas' line and now we know that Martin went over to line up behind Jesus... You're in the wrong line buddy...

that wasn't even a good attempt to slant reality...but you, and other Protestants just keep believing that you know better that Christ.....see how it works out for you, I, personally, wouldn't take the chance.....just saying

can prove neither, but they are both true....believe them or not, they are true!! Didn't you also post Luke Skywalker was a real Jedi??? If you did, I believe you...

so let's see....you can prove to an unbeliever, that Christ is God....the creator of the universe. you can prove, without any doubt, that Catholicism is not the true, unique religion originated and blessed by that same Jesus Christ....

O.K., your turn

Not to mention, that I believe since I am a baptized Catholic I am still counted in that number,

of course you are still counted, and will be until you return to reality...don't you remember the parable of the lost sheep??? what shepherd does not do everything to seek out the sheep that wandered off, but will return....Christ understands the frailty of human judgement and judges accordingly....welcome back, when He finds you!! and He will!

You could go down every country and find pretty much the same. Still the majority who never go to church are counted as part of your billion

the Catholic Church has sinners in it?????????who'd have thunk it??

On this date in history; English theologian and scholar, William Tyndale, who was the FIRST to translate the Bible into Early Modern English, was executed for heresy.

bye-bye....pray for his soul, whoops, I forgot that Protestants don't pray for the repose of the souls who have passed....too bad, so sad.

I sincerely hope you come to realize how ridiculous that statement is. It’s the non Catholics who consistently promote following Christ alone. It’s the Catholics who deride those that do but claim one must follow the RCC.

yeah, right...pathetic interpretation.

are you arguing that being the instrument and steward of Scripture makes it the infallible interpreter of Scripture which must be followed.

yes, in addition to Christ's promises...

Your statements did not attack the UU church it questioned the Christianity of a dear friend that always displayed more Christian charity than I see from the vast majority of the anti-Catholics on this forum.

Once again I find myself having to backtrack this thread for you and correct what seems to be your very faulty memory. When I asked what seminary you attended that would admit students that were Catholic, Baptist and UU, you replied:

It was a Catholic one. Why wouldn’t it admit Christians of any faith that sought admittance?

To which I replied:

Since when are Unitarian Universalists consider "Christians" in Roman Catholicism?

Is it coming back to you now? This happens to be a very logical question as it is unusual for a religious institution to accept students of religions foreign to the one they follow as an institution. That was the case with the college I attended. And, again I didn't question anyone's personal faith. What this feigned outrage only proves to me is that the Christian "charity" bemoaned as lacking in others is nearly always found lacking worse in the ones doing the moaning.

Thanks for pointing out how your 'infallible in doctrine and morals' organization could have picked out so many devils to lead it.

jesus made that choice, not the Catholic Church.

Okay...reconcile Extra Ecclesia Nulla Sallas with Lumen Gentium. One Pope claims outside of the Roman Catholic Church no one can be saved and the other, also from a Pope, claims that people CAN be saved outside of membership in the Roman Catholic Church

easy..encyclicals are letters...thoughts...not ex cathedra teachings. There are a very limited times when a Pope speaks Infallibly....the others are opinions....one pope feels this way..another that way...like politicians I guess

So, I guess you are then retracting your statement to which I gave the above reply? You stated:

every official proclamation from the Vatican, having to do with matters of faith and morals has been true......find one for me that was in error...

Perhaps you should be more careful how you throw out challenges here in the future?

Henry the 8th was excommunicated from the Catholic Church by Pope Clement before he “Henry” had Tyndale put to death. To call Henry the 8th a Roman Catholic, when he despised anything to do with the Church and made himself the sole head of the Church in England is playing loose with facts. The truth of the matter is the Catholic Church didn’t have Tyndale’s killed. Henry the 8th did. Henry the 8th was head of the Church of England, not the Roman Catholic Church.

Tyndale agreed with the Roman Catholics on the subject of Henry VIII's divorce but it was the Catholic Church who submitted letters condemning him for his English translation as well as certain doctrines. Tyndale was a Protestant who was aligned with the Reformers - Henry was NOT a Reformationist. In fact, he went after Martin Luther for some of the same reasons as Tyndale. HOWEVER...your statement was that the "Protestants" killed Tyndale. You have been shown references that refute that very thing. You, apparently, have come up with your own views of that history and have not provided objective sources that contradict what has been presented here. Perhaps you need to study the history some more? Here is one source http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyndale

It’s complete enough for Almighty God and that’s good enough for me! Christ formed His body and all those who come to Him in faith become its parts. Get used to us, IF you plan on being in heaven for eternity!

However, all you'd have to do to prove me wrong is provide 1...one....1 example of an incorrect scripture or 1...one...example of a Catholic church proclamastion that was in error.....one

I think we've had enough of the shell game being played here. One post you're saying EVERYTHING the Catholic Church proclaims is infallible and the next you backtrack and say it's only the "ex cathedra" formal statements of the Pope, blah, blah, blah. Now you're back to "show me one thing the Catholic church proclaimed that was in error". Like I said, a game, just a game. Pitiful!

So what? Good works mean nothing if they aren't works that come from a heart of belief. There can be really nice people who are on their way to hell because they reject Jesus.

Don't forget, not everyone who says *Lord, Lord* is known by Jesus.

We can't judge their heart and so are in no position to determine their final destiny.

And besides, you do not know how much *Christian charity* a person has or shows in their personal lives.

Just because they say something you may not want to hear, does not mean they are not Christian. After all, Jesus said a lot of things the Pharisees didn't want to hear and they had Him crucified over it. Could HE be accused of not showing *Christian charity*?
