Your problem lies in the definition of the word pray. It is a beseeching. Only in the modern sense have people lost that it was not always to God alone. The word has more than one meaning. I believe people of your ilk really are not understanding it?
“I believe people of your ilk”
ILK is defined as family, class, or kind: he and all his ilk.
Johngrace, I am a child of the King, saved by grace, and can approach the throne of God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Thanks for the compliment.
“Your ilk”?
Meaning protestant to you, stars and stripes forever.
Another believer earlier today reminded me that this battle has been going on for centuries.....I agreed and it won’t be settled in any Catholic’s mind until the Spirit of God indwells him.
And, just so, there are many protestants who also have not been indwelt with the Spirit of the Lord. It is a condition common to all men regardless of what religion they profess. The spirit of the Lord must move upon them and indwell them.
Till then we must continue to proclaim the truth and pray the Lord will move upon them and enter their spirit, so that they may finally see as truth that which we have told them.
NOpe...If a person would pick up a bible he would get an education of the word pray...
When the scripture says 'pray thee' which it does often, it is a petition for something...When the word pray is used by itself, it is worship...
