Worship of Self and Self Alone is the end result of elevating oneself above God. Elevating oneself above God begins with claiming Christ lied and the Holy Spirit could not and did not protect His Word. Claiming Christ, God incarnate, walked the earth and ignored His Word being polluted with books He had not inspired is a second step in elevating the Self above God Himself.
Someone who takes those steps is either already worshiping their Self and Self Alone or only a step or two away from doing so.
Matthew 18:17 And if he will not hear them: tell the church. And if he will not hear the church, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican.
