As to those the Greeks worshiped -- a Pantheon (plus an altar to the Unknown God, as Paul remarked v.23) well populated. Hindus have yet the more, all striving for some facet, then stories made up yet further. And the Buddhists-- the cure for striving be cessation for self-enlightenment observing their own each breath.

Yet we are instructed not to do this-even by the angels themselves.

Yes, and we would do well to remind ourselves of that. Forgetting that --- could the mysteries of John's revelation ever begin to be understood?
