Wrong. ...This is really dumb because in almost every state one may not operate a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level above .08% -- and they are constantly trying to lower it. How much does it take you to get drunk?

So, everybody is wrong but you...

You give nanny state regulations (.08) which were instituted by people trying to control behavior (MADD), and use that as some justification for your own ideas. It has nothing to do with drunk. It has EVERYTHING to do with behavior control.

I don't get drunk, so I don't know how much it would take to get me there. I like the taste of grape juice. I also enjoy a good Beaujolais, and to me it does make a steak taste better than with grape juice. That is OPINION. But, I buy wine in a box so I can have a glass or two.

You are ranting and raving like you know something everybody else has no idea about. You refuse to acknowledge clear explanations, and clear words taken directly from Scriptures. Instead, you berate all of those who oppose your ideas as being just plain "wrong". Scripture is clear. Jesus turned water into wine, UNDOUBTABLY with alcohol in it.

FRiend, do as you think God speaks to you, but quit trying to be a Pharisee. You see where that got them! The Scriptures you use from the Old Testament do not apply to the New Paradigm instituted on the cross. Jesus changed all that after He fulfilled all within the Law and the Prophets. What He did not bother to do, is pay any attention to the Pharisaical sect which put forth rules to trip men into believing they were Godly.

Paul sets that one up and explains it quite well in the Book of Romans, and here is part of his letter to those people who thought they held all the cards.

Romans 2:2 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. 2 Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. 3 So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? 4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

5 But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. 6 God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”[a] 7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. 9 There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 10 but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 11 For God does not show favoritism.

12 All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. 13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14 (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) 16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.

You not only don't like God's whole counsel, you do not like part of it, neither do you like the reasonable laws in this country. Sounds like lawlessness to me, the kind I did myself.

Measurement experiments show that any blood alcohol produces deterioration of judgment and coordination. To be so at any level is drunk. It's like any sin. Or virginity. On a law enforcement level, it is not about behavior control, it is about the precise control of a motor vehicle.

You ought to know better, but you refuse to admit that there is no place in the Bible that you can use to flat out affirm that Jesus made, gave, or drank alcoholic wine. You can only infer by twisting the few passages that exist regarding wine. Your so-called exegesis so far is not exegesis at all, but it is reading into Scripture something that is NOT there. So please don't keep on with it, for my sake.

I hate to see what you would do behind the sacred desk, if this is your line of teaching.

And please don't quote dynamic equivalence translation from the criticalcorrupted textform to me. I hate to have to wade through every sentence to see if it even begins to line up with legitimately translated preserved Scripture.
