Our prayers are for personal issues, not global vengeance.

#1...Surely, you've heard the phrase "imprecatory psalms"??? [If not, please proceed to about 14 or so to become familiarized...5, 10, 17, 35, 58, 59, 69, 70, 79, 83, 109, 129, 137, 140]. Indeed, this is less than 10% of the Psalms...as indeed over 90% of our prayers should focus on things beyond righteous indignation...but there is such a thing in the Bible as that...righteous indignation.

Look it up sometime. Familiarize yourself (enough) with these Biblical concepts as relayed by a socially righteous, holy and just God.

As a matter of fact, the Jews have a tradition called "Purim" related to this concept of righteous indignation...based upon what occurred in the book of Esther.

So...by all means...censor this Jewish tradition if you will -- if it falls outside the realm of what you recognize as your given theological "purity..."...And while you're at it, take some scissors & cut out all those imprecatory Psalms. [You can lecture these Psalmists for including them in the Psalms when you get to heaven, scolding them for "encouraging" global vengeance, right?]

And #2, if things like Jewish holocausts or mass murder (like abortion & other violent acts) doesn't "distress" you, please go ahead & object to other portions of scripture...like Ezekiel 9...where Ezekiel has this vision that those NOT distressed over the violence going on in a city would be the ones targeted for destruction by God's angels of death.

Why...go ahead & preach your blase' "gospel" of "tolerance" of all things evil...Something that some people in some cultures have not had that "luxury" thru all generations.

Surely you read his post where he said our prayers. Why then the snarky comeback with what the Psalmist prayed? He didn’t say all prayers. He specifically said our prayers didn’t he?

The Psalms that are written as prayers are actually prophecies. Psalm 83 will soon show you that if you doubt it.
